We are a K-2 Private School located on the beautiful grounds of Camp Geneva.

We are committed to access and equity. Through participation in the Florida Family Empowerment Scholarship (FES), Lake Geneva Primary School is able to offer FREE K–2 PRIVATE SCHOOL EDUCATION for many eligible families. This commitment reflects our belief that high-quality education should be available to all children, regardless of financial circumstances.

Lake Geneva Primary School is built on the belief that children learn best when curiosity leads the way. Rooted in research-based instruction and inspired by the natural world, our program blends strong academics with hands-on, outdoor, and experiential learning – in a play-to-learn environment.

Our classrooms extend beyond four walls. Students learn through movement, exploration, storytelling, discussion, and play—both indoors and in thoughtfully designed outdoor learning spaces. Small class sizes allow our educators to truly know each child, tailoring instruction to individual strengths and needs while fostering collaboration, confidence, and a love of learning. At Lake Geneva Primary School, academics are rigorous, joyful, and deeply connected to real-world experiences.

Lake Geneva Primary School is part of the broader Voyager Learning Adventures community, where learning is viewed as a journey—one filled with discovery, wonder, and possibility. We partner closely with families, creating a supportive and welcoming environment where children feel safe to ask questions, take risks, and grow into confident, capable learners.

Meet The Leadership

Steven Hoffman

Founder

Steve Hoffman taught middle school and high school science and social studies for several years before entering the private sector to focus on education and recreational programs. An owner of multiple preschools and afterschool programs over many years, a love of camp life brought him to Camp Geneva in Fruitland Park in the 2010’s, where, along with a dedicated and talented team, has developed the facilities to accommodate an ever-expanding roster of youth and family based programs.

April Roth

Program Director

April is the Program Director of Camp Geneva and has spent more than two decades working alongside children, families, and educators to create learning environments where students are known, supported, and inspired to grow.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and brings a unique blend of operational leadership, educational insight, and hands-on experience with learners from preschool through high school. Throughout her career, April has worked directly with students, supported families navigating academic challenges, and led the development of programs that strengthen early literacy, foundational math, and whole-child development.

April’s work is deeply shaped by her love of travel, the outdoors, and lifelong exploration. Whether hiking forest trails, listening to live music, or looking up at the night sky, she is continually reminded that curiosity is the doorway to learning. She believes some of the most meaningful learning happens beyond four walls—through play, movement, discovery, and connection to the natural world.

At Camp Geneva, April brings together her passion for education, thoughtful program design, and community-building to create experiences that feel both intentional and joyful. Her guiding belief is simple: when children feel curious, capable, and cared for, learning follows naturally.

Nikesha Oliver

Nikesha Oliver

Lake Geneva Primary School Director

My name is Nikesha Oliver, and I bring over 20 years of experience in education, spanning early childhood, K–12, and higher education. My background in early education has equipped me with a strong understanding of the foundational skills and developmental needs that are critical to student success, while my K–12 experience has strengthened my ability to support academic growth across diverse learners.

In addition, my work as a college professor has allowed me to mentor and develop future educators, bridging practical classroom experience with educational theory.

As the Director of our Pre-K through 2nd grade program, I am passionate about creating nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environments that foster curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. I look forward to building upon the strong foundation of our school by supporting teachers, partnering with families, and ensuring every child is empowered to thrive.

Beth Smith

Administrative & Program Support

Beth supports Lake Geneva Primary School through a wide range of administrative and program support roles, helping ensure that daily operations and program development run smoothly. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organismic Biology as well as an Associate’s degree in Biology, bringing a strong scientific foundation to her work.

Beth has experience across administrative support, program development, and organizational development, with additional strengths in sales, marketing, grant writing, and donor development. Her diverse background allows her to contribute thoughtfully to both the operational and mission-driven aspects of the organization.

She believes that learning is the foundation for developing critical thinkers and compassionate, capable adults, and she considers it a privilege to play a role—large or small—in supporting children’s imagination and learning journeys.

Outside of work, Beth can most often be found outdoors, hiking wooded trails, camping, or heading out for an invigorating run in nature.

Non-discrimination Policy

Lake Geneva Primary School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. Lake Geneva Primary School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, or other school-administered programs.

Lake Geneva Primary School is committed to serving a diverse community of learners. As a small, specialized K–2 program with an emphasis on outdoor experiential learning, hands-on instruction, and small-group teaching, we evaluate each applicant individually to determine whether our program is an appropriate educational fit.

While we strive to support a wide range of learners, Lake Geneva Primary School may not be able to accommodate students whose educational, medical, behavioral, or therapeutic needs require specialized services, one-on-one support, or clinical interventions beyond the scope of our current staffing, training, and facility resources.

Admission decisions are made in the best interest of the child and the overall learning community, based on our ability to reasonably support the student within our existing program structure.
